2021: A Short Retrospective

I’m well aware this post is super late, but this Covid-19 pandemic-era really warped perceived time in my mind. I can’t really tell you where 2021 went, rather that it was mostly spent working from home, much like 2020.

To add to the blurred lines, 2021 continued to feel just like clone of 2020 in my day-to-day work life and I really started to get a feeling of “Groundhog Day”.

In my personal life, I continued to set the lay of the land post-emigrating to England. In April/May 2021, my wife and dogs finally joined me, after 6 months of being here alone here and both the reality and normality of our new life began to set in.

In my work life, thanks to the project I was on, Laravel continued to be a major growing point for me and 2021 was the year it finally (and mostly) clicked for me.

Looking forward, 2022 has already gotten off to an interesting start and enough variation that feels the monotony has been broken, but more on that later. Right now, I really need to focus on updating this blog more and writing more technical pieces.
